Image DPI Changer
Image DPI Changer updates DPI metadata for print-oriented workflows without changing the actual number of pixels in the file. This is useful when a printer, layout program or marketplace requires a specific DPI value even though the image dimensions are already correct.
How to use
- 1
Upload a JPG or PNG
Choose the image that needs corrected print density metadata.
- 2
Set the target DPI
Enter the required value such as 72, 96, 300 or 600 DPI.
- 3
Download the updated file
Export the adjusted image and use it in your print or layout workflow.
Technical details
DPI does not magically add detail. It is metadata that tells print and layout software how densely to map the existing pixels onto physical space.
The tool rewrites the relevant density metadata used by JPG and PNG, while leaving the pixel grid intact. In other words, a 3000 × 2000 image stays 3000 × 2000; only the print density tag changes.
Typical use cases include packaging proofs, labels, brochures, Amazon and Etsy print-on-demand assets, or prepress handoff where a workflow rejects files that do not report 300 DPI even though the actual image is large enough.
